Our Story

For years, our founder worked across federal government, regulatory bodies, and the private sector, advising on governance structures, promoting compliance, and helping organisations build the administrative foundations they need to operate with confidence.

What became clear over that time was a persistent gap. Large organisations had the resources, the frameworks, and the specialist expertise to get this right. Small businesses, often just as complex in their obligations, rarely did.

Arete Risk ACT exists to close that gap.

Drawing on experience as a practice manager in a local law firm and a career in Defence and the public service, we bring a depth of practical, cross-sector knowledge that most small business consultancies simply can't match. We understand how regulatory frameworks are built, how compliance obligations work in practice, and how governance structures either support or undermine the businesses they're meant to protect.

We started this business because small business owners and their teams deserve the same accountability, rigour, and peace of mind as any large institution, and they deserve it delivered in a way that actually makes sense for where they are.
